November 4th - Season 1

It's Going Down Town

After two attempts at staging a pay-per-view in the down town Ngelosi City area, Club President Moodswing was proud to announce that the upcoming PPV would be taking place in down town Ngelosi.

When F-X reporters asked Moodswing for a statement, here’s what he had to say. “We’re quite happy with this result. Formula-X and the Azania Municipality were able to come together and make magic happen and we look forward to putting on a show like only F-X can.”

When we later approached Club Vice President, Glenwood Jacobs about the possible design of the track for the upcoming PPV, he remained tight-lipped saying that “you’ll have to wait and see just like everybody else.”

However Glen was far less tight-lipped when we asked him about the intrigue and unique atmosphere of  having a down town track.

“Well there’s nothing like racing on roads that are almost exclusively congested by rush hour traffic. That surreal feeling of going at over 200 kilometers per hour past sky scrapers and hotels and bus stops and train stops through one-way tunnels going in the opposite direction. There’s not  a feeling like it.”

Well it looks like the upcoming PPV will be something to behold. With an exciting feature race for the Formula-X Crown; a relay race for the Formula-X Relay Baron titles and the first ever One-KM Derby between John Kloof and Jim Kieck, the introduction of one of the most anticipated tracks could lead this to be the best PPV in the Formula-X  series.

October 28th - Season 1

Return of the King

We are one day removed from the second PPV of the F-X series and after his second PPV feature race, Thorne Oberhauser is… STTTIIILLL FORMULA-X KING. F-X reporters managed to get an audience with the King and this time — with insistence from the King — the interview took place right in the middle of the infield in front of the capacity crowd of Monday Night Fuel.

The King wasted no time earning the err of the crowd. “These people here tonight will do best to recognize royalty when they see it. I proved for a second PPV in a row that I am  racing royalty.” When the live crowd in attendance started booing the King, we asked how he felt about this reaction and he told us, “I know how this game is played. This is sports entertainment and these people came
here to be entertained. The difference between me and all the other F-X racers is that where they’re vying for popularity, I have no qualms gaining notoriety.”

When we continued by asking if this is an act and if so, isn’t he afraid of being hated. “I wouldn’t say it’s an act because I don’t have a script. Did Muhammed Ali have a script when he showed off his arrogance. And to this day he’s considered one of the best boxers of all time. Well now you’ve found your Formula Racing equivalent. The fact and the matter is this: I know that every time I open my mouth and make you people hate me, I give you a reason to come back: you want to see me get my ass handed to me. But as long as I’m better than whoever your beloved hero is, I won’t lose sleep at night.”

October 21st - Season 1

The Hallow's Eve Circuit

With only six days to go, it was time to reveal the PPV track for this month. After being released on F-X social media in an exclusive video, the track was almost immediately nick-named “the Bicep” due to the image of the track resembling a man showing off his bicep.

While the F-X racers were noticeably quiet on social media (possibly due to focusing more on strategies for the course). the fan were alive with chatter. One of the early agreements among fans was the curvier nature of the track. F-X. reporters were quick to dub the HALLOW’S EVE track “the sexiest track of Formula-X” which quickly became a meme.

The track itself is said to be on the opposite side of Ngelosi City. Moodswing explained that they have been meeting with the Azania Municipality to get a track that went through the heart of the city but to no avail as the Municipality said that the congestion would overwhelm the city especially since it would be there from Friday morning through Saturday until Sunday night.

Despite this setback, Moodswing was confident that the track itself would provide a decent challenge for the F-X racers and an appealing atmosphere for the audience in attendance.

Just as with Arbour Games, tickets for the Grandstand were sold out almost within an hour after going on sale.

An History of Formula-X

Last night, F-X reporters caught up with Moodswing and Glen Jacobs for a candid interview about the making of MONDAY NIGHT FUEL.

The co-showrunners were more than happy to divulge the history behind the ground-breaking show. Moodswing explained that before the idea of Fuel was born, there was just F-X.

While Moodswing and Glen were tight-lipped about the origin of the F-X engines and the era before, it has been well documented that over a year ago the Metro Police put a stop to a long-running  underground open-wheel racing scene rumored to be contested in ex-formula vehicles (hence the name F-X… a play on ex-F). Due to the illegal nature of this “era before”, it’s understandable why the co-showrunners were reluctant to speak on the matter.

“So while we were sitting there with this existing concept of racing these ex-formula engines, we realized if we were going to do something with them, it would have to set itself apart from existing entities like Africa’s Auto 1, Europe’s F1 and America’s IndyCar,” explained Moodswing. “That’s when we envisioned a sports entertainment TV series,” added Glenwood.

And by combining sports elements borrowed from high school rugby events and entertainment elements borrowed (heavily) from Wrestling, an entirely new animal was born called Monday Night Fuel.
