In an effort to avert what happened last time, King Mandla called for the contract signing to take place at the same time as the press conference between him and his Claimant.

The press conference took place in the make-shift conference hall (retrofitted from one of the terminals) and had the King and challenger answer the questions of the press while sitting tensely across a table from each other.
While Thawn expressed high confidence that he could win his Crown back, Mandla — the more experienced public speaker — made it clear that that would never happen and that while he had his ego, he had the people of Azania behind him. He went on to remind him that the sound of people cheering him on will haunt him right into the PPV.
