With the Formula-X series taking a month long break for the Christmas holidays, most of the racers got an opportunity to relax and recoup. Lucky for us, an F-X reporter was invited to the home of Brenda Koek as the family celebrated Christmas.
Brenda, who lives with her two sisters, says that she’s been looking after them since she was 18 years old when their parents died. She said that it hadn’t always been easy especially with her youngest sister Teresa who was ever the teen rebel.

Brenda went on to say that what really helped them during the hardship was the presence of the church as their parents had been very religious. And while two of the sisters had a love hate relationship with this religious lifestyle, they had always kept church close to their hearts.
While Brenda was weary to discuss the current status of her faith, she was more than willing to tell us that she “planned on coming back from the break and kicking serious ass.”
