The amount of work that went into the making of Monday Night Fuel cannot be understated. While on the surface, the show would appear to be nothing but a series of races, in actuality the show is so much more…
From the get-go, Glenwood and Moodswing wanted to show every aspect that went into the show and as such the show comes off as a reality show revolving around the racers’ lives. However to keep costs down, the showrunners wanted this “reality show” to be set in one singular location. Enter the Old Azania Airport.
The Old Azania Airport was chosen not just for it’s runways which could be circled endlessly but also because the now abandoned terminals could be repuposed to serve various functions. Some of these functions include the V.I.P. boxes which run the perimeter of the backstretch; the clubhouse for the Formula-X Racing Club and concession stands for patrons attending Monday Night Fuel.
There have been rumors of another section of the terminal being renovated although these plans are being kept a secret for the time being.
