February 3rd - Season 1

We are officially  2 weeks away from the next PPV and we now have a title: HEART-ATTACK. And with a title like that it can only mean one thing… Valentine’s season is here.

During the announcement this past week on F-X social media, Moodswing told us that this PPV will take place on the Sunday closest to Valentine’s Day every year. This officially marks the first PPV that has been promised to appear on the calendar every year.

Moodswing also announced that unlike The Scramble, HEART-ATTACK will have an after party. Like the Year End Bash and Hallow’s Eve before it, HEART-ATTACK’s post-event party will take place at the Fuel Speedway.

Unlike the previous two events, HEART-ATTACK’s post event will be a Valentine’s Day Ball and will feature a dance. The Commissioners have gone on record saying it’s the closest thing that the Formula-X series has to a Matric Dance. Amusingly, this seems to go along quite well with Moodswing’s insistence that the F-X series plays by schoolyard rules.

It will be interesting to see how HEART-ATTACK plays out as romance blossoms for the F-X racers. Mandla Xulu has gone on record saying that he wants HEART-ATTACK to be great as it will be the first time he defends the F-X Crown since winning it.

Not everything about the upcoming event has been positive. There is a very vocal minority that is very critical of the title of the PPV as they feel that it’s too aggressive. Is it possible that Moodswing has taken his love of wrestling too far?

Amandla Awethu: Bayede Inkosi

A new King has been crowned… and what a crowning it was.

In an unbelievable display of cunning and incredible fortitude by both F-X racers, Mandla Xulu came out in front  and not only stole the show but the throne as well.

With a victory as powerful as that, it was only fitting that his coronation on Monday Night Fuel be just as powerful. And it was a sight to behold. With half the fans in the fan base singing songs popularly sung amongst the CMA crowd, it was a true heroic crowning.

However the coronation wasn’t without some backlash. Some members of the fan base are worried that  the F-X series is becoming too political. Indeed, after King Mandla took the Crown, the F-X Cam Crew managed to capture Mandla’s father shaking hands and smiling with Moodswing which fans believe is a bad sign.

There are many that believe this over-familiarity with the Deputy Mayor could compromise the integrity that the F-X series has worked so hard to build by implying that the CMA was buying the F-X Crown.

However it must be noted that the fan base has only questioned what all this looks like rather than questioning the integrity themselves as it seems the legitimacy of the races has been put to rest. In fact, some fans have gone as far as saying Moodswing deliberately allowed those images to be leaked in an effort to ensure controversial discussion.

Regardless of how hungry Moodswing is for entertainment, no one can deny that Mandla’s victory was hard fought

Starting Positions

In preparations for the upcoming pay-per-view: THE SCRAMBLE, last night’s episode of Monday Night Fuel took a very different feel as it forewent it’s usual one-on-one races to instead have qualifying sessions for each F-X racers participating in the feature-event.

As you know, THE SCRAMBLE taking place in 6 days time will be a unique event in that the feature-event of the racecard won’t be a one-on-one race for the Formula-X Crown, but rather a race with multiple racers.

As such, the starting positions of all the participants is of high importance and all F-X racers will be looking to capture that coveted 1st Position on the Starting Grid.

Last night on Fuel, we saw each F-X racer entered into the Scramble Race take to the track in individual fashion with an effort to achieve the best lap. At the end of the night, the racer with the best lap went on to take the 1st Position in the starting grid. (Turn to Pg 2 to see the starting grid line up.)

One of the bigger stories going into the PPV is what exactly the winner will receive as it was mentioned before that there was a points system in place.

“Look, the point system is something that we’ve been looking into for a while as a means to measure performance of a racer against their drawing power,” said Glen Jacobs. “However at this time, we are nowhere near figuring out how to execute that system. As such, we have decided for now that the points awarded for ranking in the Scramble feature-race will go towards booking spots in PPVs for racers who would otherwise have been playing reserve.”

While this might not sound lucrative on the surface, we know that it’s a great incentive for racers who had missed out on PPV races.

Getting Ready for the Scramble

Happy New Year ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to Monday Night Fuel.
Not wasting any time at all, Club President Moodswing announced that the year’s first PPV will be taking place in 2 weeks time and will be called THE SCRAMBLE.

In an unprecedented move, the showrunner also announced that this pay-per-view will take place on the brand new and rebuilt Fuel Speedway.

“We felt that with the new home circuit being unfamiliar to the F-X racers, it was actually quite perfect for our upcoming PPV. It will also give a whole new feeling for preparations as we’re still going to allow the racers to compete on it for the next two episodes of Fuel before the PPV.”

When we asked him whether or not it concerned him that the fans would basically be getting their monies worth for free, Moodswing assured us that the Scramble feature-race would be different enough that the PPV will still be something to behold.

In an interesting twist which seemed to be a direct response to Touch’s accusations on Talking with Touch, Moodswing announced that Glen would be appearing on the talk show after the episode to explain the nature of the Scramble feature-race and what made it so special.

We certainly look forward to that installment of Talking with Touch as will everyone with the talk show having lived up to it’s reputation.

The Number One Claimant Calls Out the King

Last night’s episode of Monday Night Fuel saw some hype going into the event when Moodswing announced on F-X social media that the contract signing between King Thorne Oberhauser and Mandla Xulu would take place on stage at the top of the hour.

True to his word, Moodswing was on stage when Fuel started streaming and invited the Number One Claimant onto the stage and then the King himself. However the King failed to show up.
Moodswing was quick to ensure the fans in attendance and those watching at home that this did not mean that the race was null and void but rather that the contract would have to be signed at the YEAR END BASH.

Before Moodswing could have the stage cleared though, Mandla took the microphone and proceeded to address his followers. He told them that he’s not someone to mince words and that he was sick and tired of King Thorne walking around F-X claiming to be the best when he was not.

He continued by saying that Thorne was the exact kind of person that  he was talking  about regarding entitlement. Thorne somehow believes that he’s entitled to days off and working whenever he feels like it and that he was bad example to South Africans about how to get things done.
Mandla went on to say that when he dethrones the King, he will show the world on behalf of all his people, his followers that there’s nothing to be feared from hard work and that there was no feeling like earning something the hard way.

While this earned an almighty roar from the crowd, it did not go unnoticed that Moodswing was smiling from ear to ear as he listened to Mandla taunt the King.
