With more and more comparisons to wrestling, we decided to help peel back some layers by going into the garage (or the locker room as fans have amusingly called it) and find out what it’s like to be on the roster.
One thing that we found out was that the racers are referred to by Formula-X personnel as F-X racers
exclusively. This makes them distinct from the likes of freelancers, (racers invited from around South Africa for one race only).

The F-X racers also get designated garages and pit-stalls on a one-year exclusive basis in exchange for their membership fee — which is in contrast to freelancers who must hire a temporary tent from the club. Each permanent garage has a locker room for the racers.
On Monday night in the Fuel Speedway, the F-X racers are catered for like any event. They are allowed to wear civvies up until their event is called up. The F-X racers also get the social benefits of the clubhouse.
